And with a current record

And with a current record of 0 wins and 12 losses, they are indeed the worst team the NFL has seen in its entire history. Even if they have the instant hot water faucet Suppliers most loyal fans, the question remains on how these people put up with the poor performance their team has been giving them year after year. No wonder winning isn t on top of their list. Fans don t have enough money to pay approximately 0 for a game that isn t even able to get them off their seats. The few remaining fans of the Detroit Lions are forsaking the games because of the NFL policy of no broadcast if the games aren t sold out. With the next draft, the NFL will have to do something and start talking tough to players.

But there is another reason why Detroit is losing interest in the Lions and it is not because of the losing status of the team. . A win is not so far away if the team and its management work together to grab the opportunity to win. Unless someone gets some sense into their management as well as their players, they have a really slim chance at improving. This is probably the worst year for the Lions although they haven t been showing stellar performance in the last few decades. If this team does not get their act together, their losing streak can last forever. With the economy down, these fans have no money to waste on overpaid team owners and multi millionaire players who doesn t even perform at their best. The performance that the Lions are showing makes their fans really frustrated and disappointed. In fact, a lot of people relate the losing status of the team to the history of Detroit and its failing auto industry. And as coincidence has it, the team is owned by the Ford family. The Detroit Lions can be called the biggest loser of the season. Eventually, the kind of loyalty their fans are giving them will wane with how they lose one game after the another. But it is never too late to do so, for the sake of glory and for the sake of their fans, the Detroit Lions should do something about how they are playing their games.

Lucky for the Ford family since they get a free stadium, financed by the people of Michigan, yet they make so much money in NFL TV plus licensing rights. It is also because of the depression that the economy is experiencing. The Lions are now tagged with the title of the most losing team of the NFL and they blew every chance they were given for the win. You might ask, what s in store for the Lions? The answer is as simple as nothing. They will also have to resort to paying lower salaries to the drafted players. The same family who ran their business, the Ford Motor Company, aground. The people of Detroit have gotten tired of how the team is performing and don t really care as much as before

Our village

Of them, 1,345 were identified non-repairable projects. “Our village doesn’t have any dug-well or tube-well. Similarly, 4,15,558 tube-wells and sanitary wells have also been set up to cater to the needs of the people.“Women collect water from parched wells, ponds, natural nullahs running through farmlands and rivers during winter and summer months in southern and western Odisha districts.

“Apart from piped water supply through intake well and production well, we are also digging parched wells, sanitary wells to divert water from streams by adopting new technologies. In several pockets, people are seen collecting water from contaminated sources such as rivers, streams and ponds, putting their life to great risk. As a result, we suffer from various diseases,” Raja Kadraka of Katraguda village under Bissam-Cuttack block in Rayagada district, said.Niranjan Sahoo, executive engineer, Rayagada District Rural Water Supply and Sanitation, said,  “The administration has undertaken construction of intake well, production well, spring collection well, sanitary well and reinforced cement concrete ring well projects to draw water which will be supplied to villagers after due disinfection process.

“We do not have any option other than collecting water from unhygienic parched wells, ponds and rivers from. However, in between, the state government has set up 37,689 piped water supply projects out of 1,56,468 villages and other rural habitations. To offset this, earlier in March, the state government admitted that piped water supply projects in around 2,000 villages and small habitations were lying defunct. end-of Tags: drinking water, odisha government, solar technology Location: India, Odisha, Bhubaneswar. We walk down to the neighbouring village to collect water,” she said. Most of such wells run on solar power to get rid of the electricity constraint.Water conservation activists and social workers said people dig chuha (parched well or   percolation pits) on the river’s bed to collect water in rivers such as Rayagada, Gajapati, Koraput, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Bolangir that don’t carry much water in later part of the winter and summer.K. A few years ago, some people had come to our village to dig a well, but returned when we expressed our inability to meet their demands for chicken and other things. wholesale instant water tap electric faucet Tribal women collecting water Bhubaneswar: Drinking water supply to people, mostly tribals and dalits, of forest regions and hilly terrains in southern and western Odisha districts, continues to be an uphill task for the state government. The water goes through strong disinfection process before people use them,” says Mr Sahoo. Wild and domestic animals also frequent these places to quench their thirst.Suryanarayan Panda, a social activist working for the tribals in Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur districts, suggested that the government should start digging sanitary wells in a large-scale under the Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Scheme before the summer next year in a bid to ensure that the people do not fall prey to water-borne diseases such as diarrhoea and cholera after using water from contaminated rivers and ponds.Kumuti Majhi, a tribal woman of Malipadar village in the district, travels nearly 3 km daily to fetch a bucket of water from a well dug in the neighbouring village. Dalai, a social worker working in Niyamgiri hills in Kalahandi and Rayagada districts, said. Tribals in villages located on hilltops walk down several kilometres to fetch water from such sources,” S.Odisha govt adopting solar technology options to run drinking water projects.

The worrying fact is “over-exploitation” of natural water sources leads to contamination, resulting in outbreak of diseases such as diarrhoea and cholera and subsequent death of several people every year

as cities soar vertically

Secondly, as cities soar vertically, we also dig deeper for stronger foundations that often eat into existing aquifer space. Firstly, the changing nature of aquifer stocks, as a consequence of the potentially reduced infiltration on one side, and the induced recharge due to leaky water supplies and sewerage on the other side, create a clear trade-off between quantity and quality. Last but not the least, we have also ignored the significance of natural discharge zones – springs – in our cities and the water supply and eغير مجاز مي باشدystem services that these springs have provided in a growing urban space.

Such an effort can then be complimented through decentralised recharge programmes through strategic rainwater harvesting measures. In other words, at least a quarter of the water demand for the city is met by groundwater today. Moreover, it is not just the current levels of groundwater dependency in India’s towns and cities that must become a cause for alarm, but also how sustainable do urban aquifers remain today. Current urban water planning largely neglects the context of groundwater, particularly in the trade-offs wholesale electric instant heating water faucet that accompany the large-scale, often unavoidable urbanisation. Such security is not possible without considering the prospect of large-scale ‘public’ recharge at scale in the natural recharge zones for different aquifers. There is no denying that large parts of the peri-urban space in growing cities is almost entirely serviced by groundwater. Even tanker water is largely drawn from wells and bore holes in and around growing townships.

Hence, unless a detailed understanding on urban aquifers in India is developed, with the forward linkage of the strategic management of these aquifers, haphazard groundwater extraction will only deepen the crisis surrounding groundwater. Hence, a growing demand leads to increased pumping from potentially depleting stocks over which there is competitive drilling and pumping. If estimates of groundwater extraction are not considered in the urban water footprint, ideas like 100% sewage treatment or even the objectives of reuse, recycling and recharge of water cannot be fully realised. In combination, these two approaches could constitute a large-scale programme on Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) in urban India, an approach that has been quite successful in many regions of the world. A large proportion of the so-called real estate development also draws upon groundwater resources for construction, the data for which is hard to find.

While the core areas of cities are often serviced through more formal, civic water supplies from reservoirs small and large, the suburbs and “periurbs” (peri-urban areas) almost entirely draw upon groundwater.Securing urban groundwater in a rapidly urbanising India is key for water supplies.(Dr Himanshu Kulkarni leads Pune-based ACWADAM, one of the leading NGOs working on the participatory management of aquifers in India) end-of Tags: urban india, groundwater. If statistics are to be believed, at least half the urban water supplies in India are through groundwater, the clamour for bringing in surface water transfers from great distances notwithstanding. The net result could be quite diverse, very often leading to serious issues of contamination. Even cities like Pune and Mumbai that depend upon reasonably reliable and established surface water supplies are no exception. The recent news item on some cities running out of water in the near future is perhaps an indicator of the emerging crisis of urban water shortages. The silent evolution of India’s groundwater dependency clearly needs a closer look at the highest levels of water policy making. These efforts hold hope in taking up the case for securing urban groundwater in a rapidly urbanising India.Even cities like Pune and Mumbai that depend upon reasonably reliable and established surface water supplies are no exception. Partnerships and collaborations on multiple fronts based on some of the ideas above are being tried out in a few cities in India. Protecting existing natural recharge zones, restoring strategic zones for public recharge and prioritising the revival of sustainable aquifers must become a part and parcel of water governance in India. While there are some estimates on how much groundwater is pumped in a city, a recent study by ACWADAM in Pune (a city that is largely supplied by dam water) estimates a groundwater footprint of the order of 3 to 4 TMC. Pune falls on the lower end of the spectrum of groundwater dependent urban India as it depends significantly on surface water from reservoirs. There is clearly a need to estimate groundwater availability in urban India on a dynamic basis for some important reasons. Acknowledging the significance of groundwater in urban public water supplies might be a small step towards a larger plan for integrating groundwater into securing urban water supply.Groundwater has gradually emerged as the hidden water lifeline of urban India. The articulation of urban water scarcity has often masked the growing dependence on groundwater resources in India’s villages, towns and cities. Demand in a few Indian cities today is in excess of the annual precipitation over the city area. Groundwater supplements formal civic supplies to various degrees in nearly six thousand odd small towns to large agglomerations in India. As towns grow into cities and cities into larger urban agglomerations, the rural-agricultural landscape surrounding a city gradually morphs into a sprawling cover of built-up areas. Third, in the absence of a policy on groundwater, natural groundwater recharge areas get eroded and built upon. There are many parts of cities like Bengaluru and Pune, where water supplies to large apartment blocks are sourced from well water (dug wells, bore holes and tube wells, depending upon the nature of aquifers – rock formations capable of storing and transmitting groundwater - in a region) or tanker water
